Both songs burn with dark romantic spirit—but damn it, you’ll want to dance. A high energy, pulsating electro-dance beat provides a sublime counterpoint to the darkness of the lyrics in each.
The songs break free from genre specific formulas. NINA’s haunting vocals mix with RADIO WOLF’s rich, atmospheric synth rises, propulsive electric guitar playing and experimental SFX, to create a sophisticated, lush fusion of electronica and rock n roll—made all the more impressive because the artists created, recorded, produced and mixed the songs in a custom built home studio.
MY DARK
‘MY DARK’ romanticises the dark, even cruel desire to unleash an unforgiving spirit on a lover. Lyrics like, “Heavy…Burn…Ignite…My cruel heart…Sweet dreams, I’ll be your nightmare” are delivered with ruthless assurance by NINA. Her vocal verve playfully unveils moments of deadpan, allure, and erupting lust. Radio Wolf's electrifying synths, overdriven guitar riffs with reverb and experimental SFX all fuse to create an expansive sonic atmosphere for NINA’s restless voice to haunt.
BLUESBREAKER
‘BLUESBREAKER’ ignites a fiery fusion of electro, rock and blues. The raunchy lyrics and erotic vocal delivery by NINA, “Killer in a nightdress…Burn me up…Cure me of the bad…Riding waves of fire…Night lust”, are thematically accented by RADIO WOLF’s meaty, memorable guitar hooks, throbbing beat, and spacey electronic SFX, including even a ghostly blues harmonica. Out there!

NINA: “We were definitely exploring our dark side together…we wanted the lyrics and sounds to inspire a timeless, romantic quality…a sound and feeling that’s wild at heart.”
RADIO WOLF: “By fusing modern electronic technology with older more organic music styles like rock ‘n’ roll, we create our own mythical lyric and sonic territory.”
ABOUT THE COLLABORATION
The artists first met while touring on the same bill in the US West Coast—NINA under her own name and RADIO WOLF as a de facto member of synth-pop band Parallels, with whom he was also co-writing/producing a soundtrack of songs for the feature film PROXIMITY (released by LAKESHORE RECORDS). Later, on tour again, this time on the East Coast, Radio Wolf and NINA hooked up to discuss a collaboration.
NINA had just quit her record label to make her album CONTROL (also released by LAKESHORE RECORDS), which features samples from Cliff Martinez’s DRIVE film score. Now, looking for a new sound adventure, the timing was perfect to team-up with RADIO WOLF who immediately co-wrote and produced her first single as an independent artist, ‘CARNIVAL NIGHT’, which WONDERLAND magazine called “…masterful”. A new RADIO WOLF production of her song ‘I’LL WAIT’ from the feature film THERE’S NO SUCH THING AS VAMPIRES followed and was much praised by her fans and the film’s director.
The two artists continue to collaborate, now having an album’s worth of songs which they plan to release in the near future.
